Procedure

1.       Go to the welcome screen.

2.       Click  .

3.         If you know the name of the vendor whose checks you would like to see, select the first letter of that vendor's name.  Click  .

 

4.         You will then be given a list of vendors matching that letter in a selection box with a down arrow.  Click the down arrow, find the vendor, and click on its name.  If you don't find the vendor, it may not have had activity in the two-year period captured.  Some vendor names begin with a number.  To search for those, simply click the # to the right of Z.

5.         After selecting a vendor, you have the option of seeing all checks for a two- year period, or using 'Advanced Search' to narrow the search to an amount and/or date range.  To see all checks for that vendor, simply click  .To understand the 'Advanced Search' feature, read below.

6.         If you don't know the name of the vendor or are interested simply in a period of time or amount interval to include any matching vendor, choose 'Search All Vendors' on the far right.  You will be able to vary the range of amounts and dates of interest (Advanced Search).  To see all checks in a one-month period, make the From Date and To Date the same value.

 

 

 

If you would like to limit only the amounts or you would like to limit only the dates, then select either or   and specify the range for the remaining value you would like to limit.

 

To the right of  , you will see the phrase '(starting month/year)'.  This tells you that there is no data available prior to the starting month.  Keep in mind that HISD processes roughly 5,000 to 10,000 checks per month, so try to narrow your search as much as possible.  Click    to see all checks for the range of interest.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

7.         After generating your search results, you can sort them by clicking on the column name (underlined) that you would like to sort.  The first click will typically sort in ascending order, while subsequent clicks will alternate the order.  Dates initially display as most recent check first.  Click on .  Try sorting the other columns.

8.         If   exceeds 100, you will see page 1 of X at the bottom left of the Web page, where X is the total number of pages returned.  If X is large, you may further limit your search by clicking  for single-vendor searches or   otherwise.  To move between pages, click one of

9.         For a printer-friendly version of your search results, simply select File Print or Print Preview from your browser menu.  If you would like to start a new search, simply click on ‘Start New Search’ in the far upper right.

Now simply click the ‘Print’ button to send to your printer.
